Context

Fuel Fitness is a fitness app designed to support users through guided, video-based workouts. The experience is built around helping users start workouts quickly, stay engaged during sessions, and feel confident that their activity is being tracked accurately.

This project was originally designed as a full product concept. It was later revisited to clarify the workout state and system feedback during active sessions.

Problem Statement

During testing and review of the initial designs, it became clear that users lacked clarity around key moments in the workout experience — specifically when a workout starts, whether it is actively being tracked, and when it has been completed.

Ambiguous language and limited system feedback created uncertainty, which could reduce user confidence and interrupt workout flow.

User Insight

A previously developed user persona and journey map highlighted recurring pain points related to confidence, focus, and trust during workouts. Users wanted reassurance that their activity was being recorded correctly without having to think about the app while exercising.

These insights directly informed the decision to focus this iteration on improving visibility of workout state rather than adding new features.

User Flow

This flow was selected because it represents a critical moment where clarity and feedback are essential. Users should be able to begin a workout confidently, stay informed during the session, and receive clear confirmation when the workout has ended and been logged.
